Whitby Retreat - May: In Harmony with Creation
Nature inspired Celtic Harp music, poetry and ancient prayer from Scotland and Ireland, will lead us into a time of retreat for peace of heart and deep connection with sea, sky and land. We will explore our own intimate relationship with ‘The Scriptures of Nature’ – the mysterious, divine teachings always available to us through the natural world.
This retreat will be at St Marys on the Cliff in Whitby. The house is owned by the Sisters of the Congregation of Jesus The retreats run from Friday 4pm to Sunday 2pm.
There are 7 single rooms – none of the rooms are en suite but each has a sink and there are 3 bathrooms. The Chapel looks out onto the sea and there is a large lounge/dining room and garden.
Meals will be cooked for you but washing up and other tasks will be shared. The retreats are not silent as we will be working with the theme and content of the days together.
Julie Darling is a Celtic harper, poet, artist and retreat leader, deeply rooted in the Celtic Christian tradition, who works with the ‘music of the land’ and trained in therapeutic harp music in San Diego Hospice. She now creates spaces for profound spiritual connection, using the arts of sacred musicianship and the spoken word.
