The City Prayer Group meets every Monday night at 7.30pm in the chapel at St. Bede’s Pastoral Centre (and has done so ever since the Pastoral Centre opened in 1987).
The group is ecumenical; however, currently most members are Roman Catholic. We come from all parts of York and district.
The City Prayer group meets primarily to praise God, in songs, words, and silence. The Word of God in scripture is shared, and at the end there is a period of petition. The meeting ends at about 9.00pm and is followed by tea, coffee, and biscuits.
The meeting is open to all, to casual visitors and regular members alike. We offer a warm welcome to all.
You can find out more about the City Prayer Group by ringing me, David Copeland, on (01904) 330608. But the best way is to come along, and see for yourself! You don’t need to bring anything; but you may wish to have a Bible with you.
There is no charge; a donation for the use of the facilities at St. Bede’s, and for the refreshments at the end, may be made.
