EASY Arts (Express And Surprise Yourself) art workshops at St Bede's are for anyone who needs some self time and who would like to explore different creative activities. No previous experience is necessary. The full and half day events are a little more expensive than others in St Bede's in order to cover the cost of materials that are included in the price. Recent workshops have included 'a felt of my life' and 'a collage of my life'. We will soon be looking at 'this is my way' using batik and labyrinths, and some creative writing workshops.
These events are based on our belief that creativity is the immune system of the mind - and that we can often be surprised by the work we produce. Enjoying the process of making pieces of work is at least as important as the finished product!
24 September Going through the wringer
The major theme will be more felt making for beginners, and those who would like to take felting further. We’ll rehearse basic felt making
processes and practice felting pebbles.
22 October Re-calling treasures
The major theme will be making papers out of luxurious
materials and embellishing work.
3 December Inside Out.
The major theme will be painting expressively using different approaches, including pigmented wax (encaustic painting) and batik to make our marks - no painting talent needed.
